Chapter 1 - Outbreak

"My legs work fine..." he said, before letting go of the button. "If i wish to speak with you people I expect to be able to get off my ass and come find you if its that damn important." The thoughts of Alastor's condition were flooding his mind, and worrying him. He didn't know how to deal with it.

"Hold on a sec people," Claire said over the Persacom, "First of all, Siren, before you go you need to know that the water heater is voice activated now, just tell the ship how hot you want the water. That's what Ive been working on for the last few days, and it's why I needed someone to press the key at my computer. Second of all, Donny, I can't do EVERRYTHING from my station, jeez, I try to do something nice for you guys and you make it a big fuckin deal. Fine, I'll be sure no to bother you again. No more extras from me. I'll just do the bare minimum on the ship from now on " she said angrily, and hung up abruptly.

Rushed over to the station and looked over the improvements that Claire made, somewhat pushing Donovan aside, "Hold on Claire! I agr...ee.." he could only manage to say before getting cut off, "Gee, way to go Don.." he noted, "I might have some technical know how, but Claire knows a good number of things that I don't."

He spun around, grabbing Nostromo by the colar. He lifted a bit, bringing Nostromo to his toes. "Do not push me....boy" he said angrily, before letting go and storming off to his room.

Laying down, he relaxed a bit, letting himself think a bit more. His respect of Alastor and fear driven by the simple thoughts of his death had helped create a barrier between him and other people. If he didn't think about it, he would be fine, but when Alastor talked of it as if it were no big deal, it made him feel....how could he explain...insignificant?

After a moment or two, he put a finger to his ear, assuming that Nostromo still had his earpiece in he said into the mission's communicators. "No hard feelings...eh?"

After he pressed the button he left the bridge, Siren was headed to the showers and Claire was off somewhere so he walked in another direction headed toward the simulator room. "Wonder if the ship has the 'Resident Evil' plan in its database, worth a look at." he said as he . boarded the transporter that took you to specific areas on the ship.

Looked up at Donovan with a calm but tense expression, he didn't really care being grabbed by the collar since it hadn't reached the level of aggression at which he was more prone for worthy retaliation.

Nevertheless, he understood Donny's intention and frustration had a deeper meaning, resting back with his hand over the console as he watched him storm off, slowly fixing his shirt as he looked over to the captain momentarily.

Soon enough a familiar voice rang out, slightly grumpy, yet never the less Donny's, "No, no hard feelings.. My friend."

It diddn't take long before Claire started feeling guilty about her outbusrt. Once again her own self conciousness had hurt someone else's feelings. She always panicked when she felt like she was put on the spot. She'd apologize on her way to the kitchen to get her usual evening meal of a multivitamin and a diet shake.

She put in one earbud and started to jam to some old music as she workedat a controll panel in the boiler room. She moved from keyosk to keyosk for a few hours before heading to Don's room. She knocked on the door hesitantly. "Don?" she called.

"The door is open" he said, from his bed. He was laying on his back, looking at the ceiling. He had been using the silence as a moment to meditate.

Eventually returned to his quarters once his work on the bridge was completed. Entering a place that was filled with books and relics of many cultures, Nostromo simply threw himself unto his bed and glanced up at the picture he picked up from his nightstand, glancing silently at the picture that depicted a 13 yea old version of him among the rough and weary faces of the Yunra. Despite the obvious differences between him and the warriors, what seemed to connect them was that they where all smiling.

He thought back upon the day things changed yet again for him, and he would find his own smile fading somewhat sadly, especially so when realizing he barely knew who he was, and where he came from. Eventually the picture lay flat against the counter, and his eyes slowly faded to let his ears softly twitch against the shallow breaking of a small artificial waterfall hologram hanging on a nearby wall.

She opened the door. Her face was flushed with emmbarasment over what heppened.

"I just wanted to tell you I was sorry. I over reacted. See ya later."

She headed out almost as quickly as she came in.

Its been fifteen minutes since Raiz entered the simulator room and requested the "Resident Evil" simulation. He was simulated into a village in the middle of a forest, hes clueless, talk about bad luck...

Another zombie grabbed his arm and bit his arm, he yelled and bit its head off, "What the hell kind of plan is this!?" he yelled out of frustration, "I really don't like this plan" he said as more hordes started appearing clawing out of the ground, running out of the forrest and emerging from buildings. "Becoming mindless beings with no pain or compassion..." just then a tentacle slithered its way around his lag and picked him up throwing him into a simulated building. He howled with all his might and continued his fight against the simulations. "I cant believe i set this for ninety minutes..." he thought to himself.

He only had time to sit up before claire had left. He wanted to say something, but it was apparent that she wanted to be left be. He sighed and laid back down. "it's alright..." he said quietly.

Claire walked past a monitor showing Raiz in the simulator room. Here eyes grew wide as the zombies attacked him.

"NO WAY!!" she yelled, agast that he would play one of her favorite games without her, and ran to his rescue.

Once in the simulator, she hacked into the system so that she could enter without interupting the simulation. She grabbed a shotgun and blew off the head of a zombie that was gonna take a bite out of Raiz's throat. She cheered and shot another one.

He glanced up to her. He was sworn to not say anything, but knowing Siren for as long as he did, he couldn't bring himself to tell her anything else. He opted for silence as he looked at her.

Raiz was in a blood lust frenzy killing zombies left and right, then a shot was fired and he was pulled back to reality, but in this reality Clair was jumping up for joy "What a strange girl..." he thought and crushed the zombies struggling in his hands. "Thanks for the help." he panted trying to catch his breath, "So why is this plan, this Resident Evil so...dangerous?" he asked as he continued to bat away zombies waiting for a response.

"It's not a plan, It's a video game. "

It was only after killing a few more zombies before Claire had the time to stop the game. "Emergancy overide!" she called, along with a list of numbers, and the simulation stopped.

She breathed out a sigh, "Next time when you feel like investigating something I say, talk to me first."

Raiz took a death breath held it then let out what looked like steam. He changed into his human form again, "I need to learn that override thing some day" he said while still taking deep breaths to steady himself "And thanks for the help again, but i think that after all this i need some rest, I'm off to my bed, G'Night Claire." he said as he exited the simulator room and entered the transporter and pressed the button to the level with their rooms.

"Siren..." he said, getting her attention again. "I'm not your superior...I am a partner...a friend if you will." he explained calmly. "No need to bow." he said, standing up. A hesitant movement was made by Donovan as he watched her stand. He placed a hand on her shoulder.

"If the time comes, and I need to speak of what is bothering me....be sure it is you i see first." he tried at a smile, but it came out awkwardly. He let go and sat back down on his bed. "Now...get some good rest. We have work in the morning."

Since everyone seemed to be in their quarters, Claire thought it would be a good time to get a workout in before bed. She never excersized while peopel were awake, for fear of someone seeing her. She went to the cardio room, and took off her outter layers of clothing, underneath was a tank top and bycicle type shorts.

She looked into the mirror for a minute and studied herself. Her large breasts were squished together, and she could see her tummy bump. She studied her wide hips also.

I wish I was skinny...

She knew that she had a little bit of a bigger frame than most girls, and even if she did lose the extra weight she wouldn't be the way she wanted. She just hoped no one walked in on her like this, especially since her top diddn't do very well to hide her clevage.

Everyone on the ship had exeptional good looks, especialy the captain. She was already self conious but being around gods all the time just made her feel worse. She normaly diddn't think about it until she saw herself in the mirror, and was able to compare her flaws to the other's perfection.

She got on the treadmill, and started to run. She pressed the music button and said, "Journey". The song "Don't Stop Beleivin' " started to play, and Claire started thinking about what it would be like to have that special someone in her life.

Sorry Siren He thought. But the gods gave up on this man long before he was a man. he closed and put the code in to lock the door before lying down. With a yawn he closed his eyes and rested, but not sleeping. He needed to be awake just incase Raiz forgo the code.
