Chapter 1 - Outbreak

Raiz ran to the persacom button and pressed it "We, uhh, got a small but big problem, i think Lock is on the loose." he said, none of the newbies knew about Key turning into Lock, but the ones that have been around for at least a year knew about it all to well, their secret.

(Anyway, incase you guys didn't check, Key/Lock is a character that's free roaming, a character that any one of you guys can move if you want)

She held ther book close and blushed. "It's a uh...romance."

She heard McGruff on the persacom. "Who's Lock?"

It seemed as if time had been flying by almost without notice for him. Nostromo was engrossed by the experience of trying to survive the onslaught of primitive little creatures dancing back and forth down the screen towards his laser, and with the group of girls there to sheer him on, he almost forgot the things he needed to get before departure time this evening.

“Aww, come on, you totally can go higher than that, keep going?” some of the girls argued, but Nostromo simply had to apologize himself as he left the arcade and looked down the street, seeing a long line of vendors that fused the ancient beauty of the past with the stylish aura of the present future.

Eventually watching as a line of flying ads surged over the area and caused the streets to light up with lights that moved past him like ghosts, “Welcome to Federation Station 9, a world of fresh air!”

Eventually a line of interesting smells hit Nostromo’s nose, it was another wide marketplace area where vendors from many corners of the galaxy came together to sell foods of such diversity and abundance that a lifetime could likely not manage to sample them all. But that was one end, as other areas yielded the beautiful shops of clothing that seemed to define centuries of fashion and tradition, so much so that the mere sight of human clothing stood out like pearls in the sight.

He approached near a boutique slowly, but quickly pulled his glance back to the girl that browsed over it, her face seeming to be engrossed by the beauty of the attires, it was Siren. Nos could likely have made his presence known to her, likely said something even remotely witty to start up a conversation, yet he did not quite know how, since she seemed to be well content by herself.

Others might have failed that moment, but he wondered if it did not make sense for him to at least say, “something”, lest he miss the opportunity and only regret it later.

"Romance?" he pulled his hand back rather quickly. That was a subject he was not too particularly notable in. "oh, uh...alright then." He turned away, quickly avoiding the situation.

He sighed, making his way back onto the ship and headed to his terminal where he finished his few last preparations that he failed to complete before he left. He focused on the terminal, hoping that if he became absorbed into his work enough, he would be able to push time forward faster.

The ship shuttered as it came in to dock, and Emmerich got up, eager to stretch his wings. He put on baggy sweats and a human style jacket, one that had to have the back slit for him.

Once of the ship, Emmerich was airborne. The breeze was slightly chilly at his current altitude, but the sunlight was warm and welcoming. Up ahead he found a tiny antique shop. There, he landed on the roof and headed down a ladder to the front side.

Inside the shop, was an amazing collection of paintings, suits of armor, and blades of all shapes and sizes. Before leaving the ship, Emmerich had forgotten his dagger, just in case, but luckily, he found a rather sturdy one in the shop. So, he purchased it, then took off back towards the ship.

(Lol, no one wants to play with poor little Lock, oh well, guess ill control him once in a while XD, better watch out hes after someone~)

Raiz was running around like crazy but Lock knew how his nose worked and doubled back most of the time, he was trying to predict his moves but it wasn't going well, Lock was a guy who would follow the simplest of whims, he just hoped that no one had fallen into his clutches.

Lock was actually in the kitchen when he heard Raiz announce that he was on the loose, "Kukuku, guess no maids for desert~" he said and skulked around the ship some drool dripping down his chin as he headed up the ship wondering who he would find. He was aiming for the gem of all gems on the ship, the captain, he was right outside his door listening, waiting...

After a long detour to the station's mountain, Emmerich finally returned to the ship. But as he was headed up the ramp to the Fever, his ear buzzed loudly from the ship's comm. system. "Lock is loose and he's no longer in the engine room." Raiz said.

Emmerich wasn't worried about Lock, so he headed to the kitchen to get a drink. He grabbed a glass of water from the fridge, closed the door, and turned around in time to see Lock. Knowing this could become a bad situation if he didn't act now, Emmerich pulled out his new, gleaming dagger and dove for Lock's legs.

Nostromo slowly felt the ground dissipating beneath his feet, having stepped inside the central ascendancy hub that passed into the clouds and further beyond to a quiet and very secluded observation tower. It was the kind of place whose crystal mirror like floors reflected the lights above, and which was filled with seats of cushions that where essentially engineered to be only visible in faint silhouettes, a less form of camouflage for the sake of aesthetic continuity it seems.

In his hands lay the relict of a long past, a metallic container of pages that spanned a life before Nexus, and even before the great calamity of the stars. He truly believed it had belonged to his father, his real father. Everything that he managed to carry himself with to this day rose from this book, and passed on into his own way of life. And now that he drew over yet another empty page, and pulled a blue glow tipped pen from his pocket, he would continue those words with renewed importance.

Every line written was followed with occasional glances up at the tender lights in the otherwise dark and foreboding cosmic ocean. Feeling the breeze of the higher altitude pressure atop the station rushing past his cheek over to often, he knew that if any needed to call him, they could easily make use of his communicator, which he for the moment however silenced.

"Dear Diary,
I sometimes wonder how most don't realize, that the difference between darkness and death,
and lightness and life, often depends on the celestial dexterity of these simple small dots of light.
But not in such obvious ways, not in such basic perceptions of the purpose of things.
No, what I see is a profound connection.
They, who seem minuscule from the place of our own eyes, but in whose eyes our existence may as well never have been;
these stars watch us flicker in and out of life long before even a single breath leaves their faces, but are they aware of their own importance?
Do they see us reaching for them, despite all the darkness around us, hoping that they would lead us to better places?
In the company of stars, between darkness and death, and lightness and life; I realize what I have become..

..I have become aware."

Raiz ran into the bridge to check if anyone was there, he only saw Don working at his station like if in a diffrent world, the lasagna he had made stayed untouched, "No ones hungry i guess." he thought as he ran back down the stairs.


Lock had been listening outside Alastor's door, "Tsk, Escaped again..." he said and headed back to the kitchen hoping to catch at least one person before Key came back. When he arrived he looked around not noticing anyone so he turned around to leave, his ear picked up movement and he turned in time to see Emmerich rush him. His chain that he keeps tied around his waist came undone and hit the ground while the other end wrapped it self around Emmerichs dagger and wrist, "Looks like i get a meal after all." he said and threw thew other end at him.

He looked back seeing Raiz fly around the bridge. His senses came back, and he flooded back into the real world. His stomach growled. "eh...I should have bought something while I wa..." he paused, the smell hitting his nostrils as if coming to him on command. He looked over to the lasagna not far from his seat. He read the note and smiled. Lasagna was one of his favorites.

Helping himself, he dug in, cutting out a big chunk and leaning back in his seat as he ate happily.

Claire, whom was now at her statioon, got halfway through the book. A mixture of emotions attacked her as she read. Desire, jealousy, hate and anger. It got to the point where she threw the book across the bridge and began to pout.

"Love is a lie..." she muttered.

He stopped eating and looked over his shoulder, slightly worried. "Claire?" he looked at her. Has she not realized he was there this whole time?

"What?" She asked.

"Nothing, i guess." he turned away, going back to his food. "I was just curious as to why you tossed your book."

After a moment, he put his plate down and walked over to the book, picking it up. Flipping it open he started to read a random part from the center. He laughed lightly. "This is the stuff one lady such as yourself reads?" he looked at her with a grin. He was quite amused.

"No. It's a stoopid book that really wasn't worth the money. I don't know why I even bought it. All it does is encourage girls to beleive in something only exists in stories and fairytales."

She brought her lgs up onto the chair and huged them close. "Im just mad that I spent money on such a stoopid thing when I...could have spent it on something else."

He looked through the book a bit more. "How much did you spend on it?" he questioned, getting an idea. He somewhat ignored the burst of feelings she was displaying, but that was only because he wasn't sure what he could do or say to make her feel any better.

"About 15, why?"

Raiz was tired of just running around, he ended up going up to the observation deck to look at the stars and the station just to to collect his thoughts and calm down, last time Lock had come out he had seduced a good deal of the women on board and quite a few men as well, he hoped that this time he wouldn't convince anyone to start an orgy this time "Oh god..." he said as the thought registered in his mind.


(Still struggling to dominate Emmerich)

He pulled out a 20 from his pocket and placed it in Claire's lap, walking off with the book without explaining. As he passed up Siren, he looked over. "Hey Siren" but then he noticed the look on her face. "Something bothering you?" He stood at the foot of her terminal.
