A certain strain of the Varn clan are born with what is known in their culture as "The Calling". This ability enables them to change their form for several hours into that of a multi-winged Seraph with tremendous power. Those who are able to use The Calling are attributed to God from birth, and are schooled from an early age to use this blessing only for good, not for evil, because it is written in legend that those who may Call are able to tear apart the very fabric of the universe.
Alastor is able to use The Calling, however, due to it's strength draining properties, and his Geostigma, he may only use it for 10 minutes at a time, or fear the consequence of rapid Geos growth, as they infiltrate the powered cells. Alastor has recently been running experiments using his own cells to see if it's possible to force a combination between the Geos and The Calling, although one could not imagine for what reason.
